Blind is one of those tracks that had me with about the first ten seconds. From the moment vocalist Amy Rose's hushed voice materialises the debut single from Port Of Spain is utterly captivating.
Combining softly beating electronic basslines that rumble like organic lifeforms, rubbing up against a stark rim shot the echoes like it was recorded in the cavernous warehouse next door. It's at once fragile, nervously optimistic and enchantingly seductive, the duo's deep blue Bondi Beach home permeating directly into their music.
The band describe the track: "'Blind' was actually written about three years ago and originally we arranged it with just piano and harp but we felt like the lyric deserved more depth than just an acoustic vibe. The song is all about learning to let go of other people's expectations of you and how caring less instead of more is sometimes a really healthy thing.”
