Back for more after the success of her debut track Cold War, New York musician Kiah Victoria has this week unveiled her second track.
I Ain't Goin Nowhere is a propulsive soul number the feels like Erykah Badu given some production support from her ex, André 3000. The result is scatterbrain but infectious and upbeat, in contrast to the equally beautiful, soaring balladry of Cold War.
Victoria describes the track in her own words:
"I feel like this song is my anti-self-doubt mantra. We dance with the idea that we're not worthy, but all the while, we already know what's good. I'm capable. We're capable. Good shit is happening and I can simply take it in and run with it. In other words."
If she can keep making music anywhere near as good as these first two tracks then I'm going to keep listening... Kiah is definitely one to watch.
