Stream: Love You Lately (Roosevelt Remix) - Ariana And The Rose X RKCB

Both Ariana And The Rose and Roosevelt have been firm favourites of mine for a while, so it is no surprise that this new remix of Airana’s heartbreaking track Love You Lately by Roosevelt is already one of my favourite tracks from this year.

The original track is a collaboration between Ariana And The Rose and LA R&B/electro duo RKCB and it is the kind of track that just seems a little too heartfelt to exist. Here is a beautiful pop record about the slow disfunction of a relationship in gradual collapse.

Released in partnership with Kitsuné, this remix by Roosevelt adds a warm Mediterranean sun kissed treatment to the track, and turns it into the kind of heartbreaking house record I just can’t resist. The vocals get an appropriate amount of space whilst Roosevelt focuses on adding a slinky beat and a little of his trademark sparkle. It’s both beautiful and devastating at the same time.

Stream: For Your Love - Ariana And The Rose

Following on from her Retrograde EP earlier this year, and last year’s excellent Supercool, Ariana And The Rose is back with a new track in the form of For Your Love.

For Your Love is a dramatic slice of electronic pop that attempts to capture that feeling of being overwhelmingly in love. Ahead of Ariana’s New York Light And Space event, she describes her anticipation in unveiling the new song:

”I’m so excited to be sharing this song. The whole thing was written as a burst of energy, capturing that feeling when you're totally consumed by a new love. Releasing new music and having our immersive live music party light + space all be shared with the world at once is such an amazing way to be capping off the year"

Inspired by 80s and 90s club culture and seeking to create an interactive experience blurring the boundaries between artist and audience, the Light and Space comes to New York on 16 November having already run successfully in the UK. You can grab tickets here.

Video: Supercool - Ariana and the Rose

Love this track and the new video that Ariana and the Rose have just unveiled to go with it.

With New York as the stage, Ariana and the Rose teamed up with Moxi Girls, and all-female roller skating group to tour through parts of the city. The video takes in Chinatown, Downtown, across the East River and up to Times Square to give a sense of a wild night out that perfectly compliments the the song.

Describing her ambitions for the video, Ariana says:

“When I was thinking about the visuals for the song, I really wanted to portray a group of women doing something unique and completely in their element, and partnering with the Moxi Girls was the perfect fit! The video represents two of my favorite things in the world: badass women and my greatest love, New York City.”

Supercool has a lovely starstruck quality, the pulsing electro sound mirroring that of both the city and the excitement of the narrator. Check it out below.
