Video: Fix - Hazel English

Hazel English has just announced her new double EP Just Give In / Never Going Home and to accompany it we have a new single and video in the form of Fix.

This is English at her best - sun drenched melodies that have a fuzzy feeling akin to the warmth hitting your skin on the first day in spring. It feels like this could be Hazel's moment, particularly as that new double EP is set to come out on Marathon Artists (home of Courtney Barnett, Jagwar Ma and Pond). There's a gorgeous wistfulness that runs through Fix and the John Hughes meets Sofia Coppola tone of it's accompanying video. I can't get enough.

Video: Never Going Home - Hazel English

Having first made waves last year with the track Never Going Home, musician Hazel English and has just announced her debut 12" vinyl EP. Named after that same track, the EP features previously heard tracks Never Going Home and It's Not Real, together with three all new tracks - Control, Make It Better and I'm Fine. Those tracks will gradually be unveiled with Hazel releasing a new track every three weeks through Spotify, iTunes and Soundcloud.

Accompanying the announcement is a new video for the track Never Going Home, which captures the summer evening feeling of the track as it follows Hazel through her local landscapes.

Never Going Home will be released on 7 October via House Anxiety / Marathon Artists.

Following on from debut single Never Going Home, the California based Australian has just released new track It's Not Real. It's another shimmering slice of fizzy and jangling beach dream pop. Like the end-of-summer, It's Not Real feels like the end of something, the song calling on listeners to stay genuine.

Australian-born but Oakland, California based artist Hazel English has just put this new track out from her debut EP and it's positively bristling with excitable spring-energy AND autumnal introspection, making it perfect for both those in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.

English cites influences that include the Cure, Stevie Nicks and and The Smiths, all artists you can hear in Never Going Home's jangling instrumentation and softly delivered vocal melodies.

Never Going Home is for those that have moved and travelled away from home, says Hazel: "The song is about moving overseas, the feeling of being drawn to California, and really finding myself here."
